New Sight Clinic to open in Caterham Valley

Sight Problems are often not understood by many people can take the gift of sight for granted. Macular Degeneration impairs sight and many are unable to cope with their daily needs as a result of it.

The Macular Society started in 1987 and the support group in Redhill started in 2015. The group aims to provide entertainment and activities for those with sight loss. It hosts speakers and encourages its members to share experiences while making friendships. They also introduce gadgets and information which may help on a day to day basis.

Anne’s Walk Residents Distraught After Inspection Ruling

Residents of Anne’s Walk in Caterham have been left devastated after a housing developer’s appeal to build on land next door was upheld.

Shanly Homes’ proposal to use Anne’s Walk as access to land, which is to be developed, was rejected by Tandridge District Council (TDC) in July, but the decision was upheld on 20 December.

The Government inspectorate visited the 36-house Cul-De-Sac on 26 November, and Shanly Homes plan to build 39 houses on the designated site.

The land to be developed on was previously a horse field, which had green belt status but this has not been renewed.

Aiming high for Palace in 2020
