Boogie with Bletchfest

By Peter West, Bletchfest committee

Next up in Bletchfest’s calendar of community-focused arts events is Music in the Meadow on 20 July, at Grange Meadow in Bletchingley. Now in its third year, we’re hoping it will be bigger and better than ever, and the band line-up ensures there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy.

Los Doritos are a fun, good-time band covering a wide range of popular tunes guaranteed to get you on your feet! Jungle Brew are every bit as effervescent, giving their own Latin and ska-type twist to some great songs, and Something like That will play songs everyone can sing along to while they boogie the night away! All are great musicians who have been entertaining audiences throughout the region for many years.

The gates open at 17:00. A licensed bar operates throughout the event, with a hot food stall providing sustenance for those whose energy levels need replenishing after all the dancing! Bring your own seats and/or picnic blankets, and even a picnic if you wish, although for obvious safety reasons glassware will not be allowed on the field. Tickets and more information are available on our website at bletchfest.org.

Also planned for this year is a themed music night on 9 November (details to be released later) and the return of our pantomime, following its successful reintroduction in Bletchingley earlier this year, after an absence of almost 30 years!

These events follow two successful events already this year with our sold-out comedy night in April and our Artists & Artisans Exhibition in May: both of which raised hundreds of pounds for supported charities. Register for updates on our website.
