New chair at Tandridge District Council

Tandridge District Council’s new chair of the council for 2024-2025 is councillor Sue Farr. The previous chair, Chris Botten, presented her with the ceremonial chain of office when she was elected during May’s Annual Council meeting.

The vice-chair of the council, also elected at the meeting, is councillor Claire Blackwell, who represents the Limpsfield Ward.

Sue’s chosen charities for the year are the Air Ambulance Charity for Kent, Surrey, Sussex, and the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.

Sue has lived in Blindley Heath since 1989 and has represented the Burstow, Horne & Outwood Ward since 2022. She has been a member of the Planning Policy, Planning, Audit & Scrutiny, Strategy & Resources, Licensing and Community Services committees. Since 2019, Sue has also served as a Godstone parish councillor.

Born in Hampshire, Sue moved to Cheam in 1969 and spent 50 years with a firm of chartered accountants as an audit manager, helping small and medium sized companies. She is married to councillor Chris Farr, deputy leader of the Residents’ Alliance and the council, who will be her consort.
