Death Cafe

As part of Dying Matters Awareness Week, Oxted Library is holding a Death Cafe on Friday, 10 May, from 13:30 to 15:00. The aim is to encourage thoughtful conversations around death and bereavement over coffee and cake. The cafe is free and open to all.

Clay Workshop

The Arts Society Limpsfield is running two clay workshops, suitable for children in Year 3 and above, on 11 and 18 May, from 13:00 to 15:00. Each participant must have an adult with them, and be able to attend both sessions. Cost: £5. Sign up in Oxted Library, or by emailing oxted.library@surreycc.gov.uk.

Discover RAF Kenley

Kenley Revival volunteer Linda Duffield will be giving a talk on the history of RAF Kenley at Croydon’s Central Library on Saturday, 4 May from 14:30 – 15:30.

It is free to attend, but booking is required. Visit Central Library or call 0207 8845140.

Croydon goes green

On Saturday, 1 June, there will be an open day at Central Library, introducing people to the town’s green spaces, wildlife and nature groups. Along with volunteering information, there will be activities, items for sale and stalls including Croydon RSPB, Croydon Ecology Centre, Croydon Beekeepers and Croydon Community Gardens. 

There will also be a talk by Lindsay Ould on the history of Croydon’s green spaces, and a Book Buddies children’s story time with crafts. It takes place from 11:00 – 16:00
