Running the London Marathon for CRY

By Zoe Moore

David and Zoe Moore will be running the London Marathon on 21 April this year to raise money for charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

They are taking part in memory of their friend Alex Townsend, who died in 2017 at just 25 years old. Alex was a fun, energetic young man whose zest for life was admired by all who knew him and his death came as a huge shock. Dave, who grew up in Warlingham, and Zoe decided to embark on the 26.2 mile run across the capital city both to honour his memory and to raise money to help others.

CRY aims to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death through awareness, screenings and research. They also support families who are affected by the condition. CRY works with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate facilities to promote and protect cardiac health in young people.

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. By supporting CRY you can help save young lives; see how by visitingCRY’s website. You can sponsor Dave and Zoe on their 26.2 mile run by visiting their Just Giving page
