By Robin Gwynne, project manager, Caterham Foodbank
On Thursday, 23 November, we commemorated 10 years of the Caterham Foodbank, with a gathering at Caterham Baptist Church, where it all began in 2013.
Hosted by foodbank trustee John Baldwin, it was a good moment to take stock of – and give thanks for – all the provision of food, funds and volunteers’ time over the last decade. We also looked forward, with a talk from a Trussell Trust senior representative.
The evening also included the launch of a fundraising book by one of our volunteers, and long-term Caterham resident, David Bryan. A former postman, he has researched and written up ten local walks, with all the proceeds from the sale of the book going to raise funds for our foodbank.
